Stoke will hope to maintain their fine start to the season against a Wolves side that has not won in four games.
The Potters suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to struggling Portsmouth in the Carling Cup in midweek and were then involved in a late-night drama as the plane carrying their first-team squad home was forced to make an emergency landing.
The incident has been played down and manager Tony Pulis will have quickly turned his focus to the Premier League clash at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Stoke shocked Tottenham away from home last weekend to claim their second successive victory and tighten their grip on a place in the top half of the table.
Pulis is refusing to get carried away at this stage of the campaign and has plenty of selection issues to ponder for the clash with Wolves.
Goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen is expected to earn a recall following illness despite his replacement Steve Simonsen performing heroics against Spurs.
Pulis also has to decide whether to bring Mamady Sidibe into the reckoning after the striker's return to action at Fratton Park following a knee injury.
Tuncay Sanli also played well at Portsmouth and could force his way into the side, but defender Robert Huth is still suspended.
Wolves news
Wolves are hovering just above the relegation zone after picking up nine points from their opening ten games but Mick McCarthy insists they are improving.
The manager will have been encouraged by back-to-back draws against Everton and Midlands rivals Aston Villa and will now be targeting three points at the Britannia Stadium.
Giant Austrian striker Stefan Maierhofer is available again following a one-match ban but he will have to settle for a place on the substitutes' bench.
Kevin Doyle and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake will continue in attack and McCarthy may be tempted to stick with an unchanged starting XI.
On-loan Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne is available again after missing the last two games through illness.
